When speaking to Lumigent, it recognizes words and automatically performs actions such as lighting and transformation. The main body has a movable axis with four-degree-freedom, and when not in use, it waits in a folded space-saving state. When the user calls “Hi Lumi, Turn on”, the light lights up at the optimum position set in advance without needing to operate the main unit or the smartphone application.

Lumigent is equipped with Wi-Fi and an autofocus 8 megapixel camera. The user can automatically capture documents and objects on their desk and save them on a microSD or cloud via Wi-Fi. Users can operate Lumigent’s camera with only their voice and there is no need to operate the main unit. This freedom allows the user to take pictures or videos with both hands working or of themselves pointing with a finger or pen. Lumigent’s camera can capture still images and videos, as well as time lapse images.

Lumigent has a Micro USB terminal and can be used as an 8 megapixel web camera when connected to a PC with a USB cable. Simply talk to Lumigent before starting a video conference or call and it will automatically move the camera from the position used for lighting, to the optimum angle for video calls. Ethernet connectivity is available as an option.

Cerevo is also pleased to announce that it has been named as a CES 2017 Innovation Awards Honoree in the Home Appliances product category for Lumigent. This is the third consecutive year Cerevo has received an Innovation Award at CES, winning in 2015 for LiveWedge and in 2016 for ORBITREC.

Debuting at CES 2017 – ”Taclim”, The World’s First VR Shoes and Gloves, with Built-in Tactile Devices

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

3th January 2017, Las Vegas

Debuting at CES 2017 – Taclim”, The World’s First VR Shoes and Gloves, with Built-in Tactile Devices
– A Unity Plug-in allows developers to create content using Taclim as an input and output device –

Cerevo, an Internet connected consumer electronics manufacturer based in Tokyo, Japan, announces Taclim, the world’s first VR shoes and gloves, with built-in tactile devices for haptic feedback.

Taclim
https://taclim.cerevo.com

Prototypes will be exhibited at CES Unveiled on 3rd January and at CES 2017 which runs from 5th to 8th January  in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States. Taclim is scheduled to be available for purchase in Autumn 2017 at a price between US$1,000 to 1,500.

Taclim is a set of VR shoes and gloves that are capable of detecting user movements as input and translating in-VR action to real world haptic output. Cerevo has specially developed customized tactile devices in collaboration with Nidec Seimitsu Corp., there are total of eight state-of-the-art tactile devices in the shoes and gloves. In enabling haptic feedback for the user’s hands and feet according to images and sounds in a VR space, users become more engrossed, resulting in increased immersion above and beyond what is currently experienced visually and aurally when in a VR world.

Since the built-in tactile devices can freely change the strength of feedback, a sense of stepping on different ground in a VR space such as desert, grassland, water and more can be achieved via haptic feedback. Also, the 9-axis sensor built into the shoes and gloves functions as an input device to capture movement to reflect actions in the VR space.

At CES 2017 where Taclim’s first public release prototypes will be displayed, Cerevo will show a VR game demonstration “Taclim demonstration with Headbutt Factory”, newly developed for Taclim based on a new PlayStation®VR game title “Headbutt Factory”, developed by Gemdrops Inc. which is scheduled to be released at the end of January 2017. The title is planned to be offered free of charge when Taclim is released.

The development environment for Taclim is provided as a Unity plug-in, allowing developers to freely develop content using Taclim as an input/output device. You can also create your own tactile data by defining basic haptic feedback as sample data, or by importing files in WAV format.

Taclim will be available in 2 different versions to take advantage of different wireless connectivity environments. Alongside the Bluetooth version which allows for wide compatibility with existing standards, a Sub-GHz version will be available, utilizing the Sub-GHz band to ensure stable communication performance even in crowded wireless traffic environments, such as events with large numbers of people.

Cerevo’s RIDE-1, a connected smart cycle device now available globally

A connected smart cycle device RIDE-1 is now available globally
– Share your cycling data captured by sensors in real-time  –

Cerevo, an Internet connected consumer electronics developer and creator, announces the global availability of “RIDE-1” today. It will be available for pre-order today at the Official Cerevo Store as well as Amazon.com for US$299.00 and the product is currently scheduled to ship in January 2017.

RIDE-1 is a clip on cycle device with various sensor modules and is one of the XON series of smart sports products. RIDE-1 allows existing bike owners to use the advanced sensors. The product will be exhibited at CES 2017 from 5th January in Las Vegas, USA.

https://ride1.cerevo.com/

RIDE-1’s built in communication features include ANT+, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, in addition to various sensors such as GPS. Unlike traditional cycle computers that only record running data attached to a bicycle, the characteristics of RIDE-1 allow riding data to be shared and analyzed by linking with smartphones and the cloud.

■Recording Riding Data
RIDE-1 features a 9 axis sensor, temperature, atmospheric pressure and brightness sensors as well as GPS. In addition to basic information such as riding route location and velocity, frame status such as lean and impact can be recorded by the main unit. When combined with a smartphone using Bluetooth, the riding log history can be viewed in real time turning your smartphone into a cycling computer.

■ANT+ Collaboration

RIDE-1 supports ANT+ technology, which is widely used as a wireless connection standard for fitness devices, Bluetooth is also available to communicate with other devices and services. Data on third-party sensors that are compatible with ANT+ can be imported into RIDE-1 (*1) and recorded and viewed on the cloud through RIDE-1. In addition, users can operate devices which support ANT+ by using RIDE-1, for example, automatically turning on an ANT+ compatible light when it gets dark.(*2)

■Data Management in the Cloud
RIDE-1 has built-in IEEE 802.11b/g/n wireless LAN connectivity. You can connect to the Internet via wireless LAN and upload data saved on RIDE-1 to a dedicated web service provided by Cerevo. After uploading, data can be viewed on either a PC or smartphone using a web browser, or on the companion smartphone application, making it possible to look back on past riding data and analyze it.

Live Telemetry Function
Using the 3G/LTE connection on your smartphone, you can share riding data in real time via the cloud. RIDE-1 is not only useful for informing family and friends of your location while riding, but also can record and make available body data such as the position of riders running, heart rate and power value to the accompanying support car or technical pit crew. Advanced bicycle riders can use the real time telemetry data to get feedback on their performance and progress.

■Group Function
It is possible to group registration of multiple RIDE-1 devices and view live telemetry from multiple riders. During cycling with a riding group, team mates or friends, you can check in real time information about your group’s current progress. You can also use the RIDE-1 group function to check current location on the way to a meeting place.

■Open Source
Cerevo plans to offer multiple resources for third-party developers with open source licenses such as the 3D CAD data of RIDE-1 and Bluetooth Low Energy connectivity specifications. An API is also planned, which can be used for exporting RIDE-1 data and incorporating it into other applications.

Update available for LiveShell series and Dashboard – new features added to LiveShell X

Cerevo has released a comprehensive update for its entire range of LiveShell live streaming devices. The update includes fixes for every LiveShell device and LiveShell X has added functions such as multi-streaming “play & stop” and displaying SD card recording capacity.

uball-660x371

LiveShell X
https://s.cerevo.com/x

The update is available for all four LiveShell devices – LiveShell, LiveShell 2, LiveShell PRO and LiveShell X as well as LiveWedge.

Specific fixes and enhancements include –

  • For all devices, a fix for when connected to the Internet the device would show as offline in Dashboard and could not be operated.
  • For all devices except LiveShell, a vertical crop at 9:16 aspect ratio is available so that vertical video from smartphones can now be broadcast.

LiveShell X has been enhanced with new Dashboard functions in addition to the device update. Controls have been simplified so that a button which can start and stop multiple live streaming services at the same time is now available. This makes it unnecessary to open individual tabs of each streaming service to start and stop live streaming. In addition, we added streaming settings buttons for each streaming service tab which simplifies settings changes for each streaming service.

lsx_db_en01

For LiveShell X recording functions, microSD card capacity will now be displayed when inserted into the main unit. Also, when a microSD card is not inserted and you try to perform a recording operation, you get an alert telling you that a card is not inserted.

In the Custom Settings screen for advanced configuration, text descriptions of streaming specifications and restrictions are now listed.

lsx_db_en02

The outline of the restrictions is as follows –

  • The resolution of channel 0 (the leftmost tab) is the same as the input image and can not be changed
  • Crop and aspect ratio can not be changed on channel 0
  • H.265 is effective only when streaming in recording or RTSP mode

Finally, streams not used in audio settings are displayed as grayed out so that you can see at a glance which stream you are using. For more details on each product, please see their online manuals –

Lucca Comics & Games is the largest European exposition that showcases manga, anime, games, SF and fantasy every year from late October to early November in the town of Lucca,  Tuscany, Italy. Major Japanese manga/anime titles, merchandising items and original drawings were displayed and sold, also cosplayers and artists performed in Japan Town as fans gathered from all over the world at Lucca Comics & Games.

Cerevo displayed and demonstrated DOMINATOR which has been created under the supervision of Production I.G director Naoyoshi Shiotani and Nitroplus designer Makoto Ishiwata. DOMINATOR features characteristics identical to the devices seen in PSYCHO-PASS such as automatic transformation, voiceover and sound effects, authentic LED lighting, touch sensor activation, Crime Coefficient analysis and more.

We showcased both the Standard Edition and Special Edition DOMINATOR as well the customized display stand and protector case official accessories at Japan Town. Cerevo intends to expand its brand awareness among PSYCHO-PASS fans overseas and reinforce Cerevo’s enginnering excellence and the fascination that smart toys can bring about by enabling users to become connected while playing.

Guests of all ages experienced DOMINATOR during the expo and they all said FIGATA!! (Cool!) Some guests mentioned they will watch the anime “PSYCHO-PASS“ after trying out DOMINATOR and everyone at Cerevo hopes their fascination will grow over time!  Thank you so much for all the fans of “PSYCHO-PASS“ and those who visited us at Lucca Event!  – Kaori, one of the product team members and from team Cerevo

Cerevo’s impressions: Overall the expo is quite unique; all guests were full of smiles with plenty of cosplayers dressing as they like attending and everyone was keen to experience what was on show. Attendance was diverse with anime fans, tourists and families mixing in an atmosphere that harked back to the middle ages against the backdrop of Lucca’s gothic cathedral and stone streets.
