About “DOMINATOR” 10th anniversary model

“DOMINATOR – 10TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION” is a reproduction of the “DOMINATOR – SPECIAL EDITION” which was produced in 2016. Utilizing the same design, materials and functions, it features a grip made from natural rosewood with a polished finish. The Public Safety Bureau mark above the grip is crafted from aluminum and decorated with a synthetic ruby that gives it a texture similar to a high quality accessory.

Cerevo’s DOMINATOR is a smart toy and fully transformable from Parallelizer to Eliminator modes. The original was discontinued in 2019 due to difficulties in sourcing the necessary parts. However, due to the continuous requests from PSYCHO-PASS fans all over the world, Cerevo has decided to reproduce the model by modifying the internal mechanism and release a new version to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the broadcast debut of the anime “PSYCHO-PASS”.

The differences from the previous model are as follows –

  • The packaging is changed to a protector case with an individual serial number.
  • The internal mechanism has been modified without changing the transformation function.

Pre-orders are now accepted at the Cerevo Official Store, and will be closed as the pre-order numbers reach the planned production quantity.

About DOMINATOR Functions

Cerevo’s DOMINATOR has been created under the supervision of Production I.G director Naoyoshi Shiotani and Nitroplus designer Makoto Ishiwata. DOMINATOR features characteristics identical to the devices seen in PSYCHO-PASS such as automatic transformation, voiceover and sound effects, authentic LED lighting, touch sensor activation, Crime Coefficient analysis and more.

Automatic Transformation Between Paralyzer and Eliminator Mode

Equipped with a special geared motor customized for this product, Cerevo’s DOMINATOR can automatically transform between Paralyzer and Eliminator modes according to a target’s Crime Coefficient score. Cerevo’s DOMINATOR is the world’s first smart toy to commercialize an electrically‐powered deformation mechanism.

Crime Coefficient Analysis and Transformations

When DOMINATOR is aimed at a target, it will automatically analyze and readout the target’s Crime Coefficient score. Connecting a smartphone will allow DOMINATOR to capture and stream an image from its built-in camera to the companion smartphone app and overlay Crime Coefficient data on the target image*.  Just like the one on PSYCHO-PASS, Cerevo’s DOMINATOR transforms to Eliminator mode based on the target’s Crime Coefficient score and is able to capture and save the images with the target’s Crime Coefficient score to the companion smartphone app.

Camera images mounted on the DOMINATOR can be viewed from the DOMINATOR App.

*The “Crime Coefficient” displays a different value for each person to whom the DOMINATOR is pointed at. The “crime coefficient” is a term used in PSYCHO-PASS and is a fictional word.

Official Voiceover by Noriko Hidaka

DOMINATOR features over 100 exclusive voice samples from Noriko Hidaka who plays the Dominator voiceover for PSYCHO-PASS. Cerevo’s DOMINATOR can automatically playback voice-overs depending on the situation, such as grasping the grip, detecting an authorized person and more. Cerevo’s DOMINATOR has a built-in speaker for voiceover and sound effects and can also playback sound via a connected smartphone’s speakers.

*There are 71 types of voices that can be played in sound test mode.
*The DOMINATOR app will be compatible with iOS/Android in Spring 2024.

Grip Touch Sensor and over 200 LEDs

Cerevo’s DOMINATOR has a built-in touch sensor on the left and right hand sides of grip, enabling detection when held in either hand. Just like in PSYCHO-PASS you can register your DOMINATOR to activate when holding the grip or lock out unauthorized users. DOMINATOR’s body has a total of 217 full color, high brightness LEDs, the LEDs have authentic lighting patterns to replicate Paralyzer, Eliminator or charging modes.

Cerevo at CES 2020 – Exhibiting Examples of Products Developed Utilizing the IoT Platform Afero

Cerevo at CES 2020 – Exhibiting Examples of Products Developed Utilizing the IoT Platform Afero

Cerevo Inc., an Internet connected consumer electronics manufacturer based in Tokyo, Japan, has developed products using the IoT platform provided by Afero, with whom Cerevo announced the first Advanced Tier Integration Partnership focusing on start-up support and contract/joint development in December 2019. Some of the examples of these products will be exhibited at CES 2020.

Start-up Support Business

“TiNK” Lock Device for tsumug, inc.
Cerevo has been playing a major role in developing both hardware and the service for tsumug’s TiNK, a lock device, since April 2018. Afero technology was able to bring stable service to TiNK, ranging from normal circumstances to emergency situations, enabling reliable unlocking. tsumug’s TiNK lock is the very first product Cerevo and Afero began working on together as a result of tsumug utilizing Afero for the device. The latest model of TiNK will be exhibited for reference at CES 2020.

Contract/Joint Development

Cashless Payment Terminal Device for Japan Digital Design, Inc.
Cerevo has developed the prototype for a cashless payment terminal device for Japan Digital Design. By communicating with the device using a dedicated App that has been downloaded onto a smartphone, a QR code that can only be used for payment settlements on that smartphone is generated. This unique and safe payment system through secure connections came to reality by using Afero technology. The prototype device will be exhibited at CES 2020.

Cashless Fully-Automated Washer and Dryer for X-tech Management, Ltd.
With X-tech Management, Ltd., Cerevo has developed a prototype from the idea of a student at Kyoto University of Art and Design for a “cashless washer and dryer service for vacation rentals.” An existing coin-operated fully-automated washer and dryer was customized after receiving permission from the manufacturer and using Afero for communication. The control board, which has communication features that support electronic payment systems, will be exhibited for reference at CES 2020.

With these product development achievements Cerevo is looking forward to working closer together with Afero as the first Advanced Tier Integration Partner.

Announces a Sensor Module for Skis “SKI-1”, The Sixth Product for its XON Smart Sports Brand

6th January, 2019 (PST) –

The Sixth Product for its XON Smart Sports Brand
A collaboration with Reine Deer, blending traditionally crafted Japanese wooden skis with the latest IoT technology

Cerevo Inc., an Internet connected consumer electronics manufacturer based in Tokyo, Japan, announces that it has developed a ski-specific module “SKI-1”, equipped with built-in sensors and data communication functions. SKI-1, the sixth product of Cerevo’s XON smart sports brand, is also connectable to smartphones for linking to the cloud.

Cerevo is collaborating with the first Japanese luxury ski brand Reine Deer, which sells luxury ski-related items such as wooden skis incorporating traditional Japanese craftsmanship produced by Snow Snow Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Iida City, Nagano Prefecture, CEO: Mika Takagi), by providing them with SKI-1 as a sensor module.

Cerevo will exhibit SKI-1 and Reine Deer skis at its own booth at CES 2019 to be held from January 8th 2019. The product is scheduled for release next winter.

XON SKI-1
https://ski1.cerevo.com/

SKI-1 is a sensor module for skis equipped with an LTE module and multiple sensors. The sensor data is measured by SKI-1 and recorded via your smartphone to the cloud, using the same system which debuted in the first XON series product SNOW-1.
Users can check their performance data in real time with the companion smartphone application, by graphically visualizing their skiing they can look back on their own runs and improve techniques.
In addition, since SKI-1 is equipped with a GPS and LTE module, if your skis are lost, the location information of the skis is periodically transmitted by SKI-1 allowing you to easily locate them.

Cerevo launched the first product in XON series, SNOW-1, in 2015 and selected skiing as a new winter sport to develop the next XON series product for. The reason for choosing skiing was that Cerevo felt the market requirements matched the those of the original SNOW-1. SNOW-1’s function to measure in real time objective information such as the center of gravity, load and bend etc., and to visualize this information to combine with video shot in real time are features that both amatuer and professional skiers also desire.
As a result of consulting with Snow Snow, a manufacturer of winter sports equipment, we felt that we could use the leading technology from SNOW-1 for skis. We then began model development collaboration with Reine Deer to respond to user needs to improve skiing skills using IoT.

The ski on the right features Fujin, the god of wind and Raijin, the god of thunder in gold leaf, the lion’s design on the left uses the techniques of Makie, Mother-of-pearl, and Japanese Lacquer.
Price: 112 million yen / set (tax excluded)

Ms. Mika Takagi, CEO of Snow Snow Co., Ltd. discusses this collaboration,
“When the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake occurred, I learned the shocking news from overseas and tried to find something that I could do for the affected area, during that time I learned about the excellent traditional crafts in the Tohoku region. Currently, I am developing skis and ski wear using traditional crafts and I am convinced that sports with common rules around the world such as skiing are a key to overcoming cultural differences.
This collaboration between the skis of the ski equipment brand Reine Deer and Cerevo’s SKI-1 makes for a thrilling item that merges traditional Japanese crafting techniques and the latest IoT sensor technology from Japan.
It is a product that can be fully enjoyed all over the world, combining technology which visualizes the skill and movement of traditionally crafted skis. At the same time, it is a product that can protect against theft or loss which is a concern, so I am very excited to see this product come to fruition.
