Cerevo’s Robotic Smart Desk Lamp “Lumigent” will use Alexa Voice Service (AVS)

Cerevo develops proof of concept demonstration of Alexa integration

26th May 2017

Cerevo Inc., an Internet connected consumer electronics manufacturer headquartered in Tokyo, Japan, announces today that its IoT products will utilize Alexa Voice Service (AVS), which allows connected devices to access Alexa’s built-in voice capabilities.

Cerevo also disclosed that Lumigent, a robotic smart desk lamp with voice recognition and transformation functions, will be Cerevo’s first product to utilize Alexa, Amazon’s cloud-based voice service. Cerevo developed proof of concept demonstration of Alexa Voice Service using Lumigent.
Lumigent recognizes words and automatically performs actions such as lighting and transformation. The main body has a movable axis with four-degree-freedom, and when not in use, it waits in a folded space-saving state. It is equipped with Wi-Fi and an autofocus 8 megapixel camera. The user can automatically capture documents and objects on their desk and save them on a microSD card or the cloud via Wi-Fi. Users can operate Lumigent’s camera with only their voice and there is no need to operate the main unit.

Lumigent plans to use Alexa Skill Kit (ASK) in addition to its original voice recognition engine to create a skill for Amazon Alexa devices such as Amazon Echo and Echo Dot. This skill will enable users to move and transform Lumigent by talking to Amazon Alexa devices.

Cerevo announces development of “FlexTally”.
A w
ireless tally lamp system, competitively priced and easy to set up

Expanding the market for the diverse professional crews

23rd April 2017 –

Cerevo
Inc., an Internet connected consumer electronics manufacturer headquartered in Tokyo, Japan, announces a tally system, “FlexTally” which supports both wireless and wired connections. FlexTally is scheduled to be available for purchase after Summer 2017 at the Official Cerevo Store as well as Amazon.com for approximately US$500.00 (the standard package contains one station unit and four lamp units).
FlexTally will be exhibited at NAB Show 2017 in Las Vegas, in the United States from 24th-27th April 2017. (Cerevo Booth information at the bottom  Central Hall,  C1046)

FlexTally https://flextally.cerevo.com

The Tally Lamp System can be used for recording or live streaming with multiple cameras. Without a professional broadcasting studio camera setup, on camera performers or presenters have no way to know which of the multiple cameras is active. Using a tally lamp system, an indicator lamp called a “tally lamp” is set near the lens of each camera and the tally lamp with a pilot lamp to show which camera is active.

Currently, live video and recording using multiple cameras is often used in professional fields such as the broadcast industry, so standard tally lamp systems are expensive and in general are sold as peripheral equipment compatible with specific video switchers.

Due to the performance improvement and lower price of HD video cameras, as well as the spread of live distribution services, environments where professional quality video recording and live streaming using multiple cameras are being used is expanding. So by using FlexTally, not only professional users but also semi-professional and amatuer users have greater opportunities to develop high quality programs and broadcasts.

In 2009 Cerevo launched a device that enabled full-scale live streaming at an affordable price, CEREVO CAM supported the world’s first live streaming service Ustream and brought live streaming to a new generation of broadcasters. Since then Cerevo has been constantly developing new live streaming devices such as the LiveShell series, that can deliver HD broadcasting without using a PC and LiveWedge, a video switcher, mixer and recorder with live streaming functions.

FlexTally is a tally lamp system designed for easy operability and available at a price range that means even small studios or streaming sites can look to add it to their multi-camera setups. FlexTally can be used via either wired or wireless connections for added convenience and its built-in battery allows for portability and use in remote shooting locations.

Main features

FlexTally consists of a station unit that connects to LiveWedge and four lamp units that are to be attached to each camera. Each lamp illuminates automatically according to the LiveWedge switching operation. Built-in batteries in the lamps eliminate the need for multiple power cables.

It uses the 433 MHz wireless which is resistant to obstacles and interference from other wireless signals, so a communication distance of 100m or greater can be achieved. The wired connection uses a standard RS-485 serial connection, so it is possible use cables several hundred meters in length without issues. In addition, it is also possible to daisy chain connections through terminal blocks ), enabling even longer connections as needed.

If you use FlexTally in combination with Cerevo’s live streaming switcher LiveWedge, no advanced setup is required and users can easily complete installation without special knowledge of video equipment or network connections. In addition, FlexTally is compatible with other brands’ switchers, as well as Cerevo’s own LiveWedge switcher.*

FlexTally uses high brightness LEDs and the 6 hour battery life of each lamp unit means it can be used outdoors in remote shooting locations where power may not be readily available. Also extra lamps can be added, making it possible to connect up to 32 lamp units to one station. Cerevo plans to make available lamps for purchase separately.

* Blackmagic Design’s switchers will be supported.

TACHIKOMA 1/8 Scale
https://tachikoma.cerevo.com/en/

Cerevo’s ongoing project “S2R (From screen to the real world)” creates unique, real world connected versions of devices that appear in works of animation, games, movies, etc. TACHIKOMA is a product developed by Cerevo as its second step S2R. It is the first Ghost in the Shell product*1, with the perspective of the world of 攻殻機動隊 (Ghost in the Shell) S.A.C. that realizes electric mobility of each joint, pod, manipulator, and wheel. It features a speech recognition function that allows users to talk to TACHIKOMA in natural language, reproduces the “synchronization” ability between all other TACHIKOMA(s) and has a running function controlled via smartphone.

Every part such as each leg joint, both arms and pod can move autonomously
In total 21 motors are mounted in TACHIKOMA and they move autonomously according to conversations it has with the user. Not only each leg but also parts such as both arms, pod, image sensor, etc. will move. In addition, there is the option of operating TACHIKOMA via the companion smartphone application. Like the original, it can freely move by turning the running wheels on the bottom of each leg. Furthermore, by providing multiple action commands, it is possible to reproduce a variety of postures and a variety of emotional expressions that appear in the original anime by moving each leg joint or pod.

Sakiko Tamagawa‘s recorded voice can make the same conversation as the original
In order to make any answer theoretically possible like the original animation, 600 different responses from Sakiko Tamagawa, the voice-over actress of TACHIKOMAs in the original animation were recorded and combined with a voice recognition engine and voice synthesis engine. You can talk in the real world with TACHIKOMA who will then respond with the same voice as in anime, this is the function all fans have dreamed of, TACHIKOMA recognizes the spoken words and creates a suitable reply based on the question content. In addition to matters concerning the characters and keywords from the original anime, it is also possible to answer with everyday conversation such as “Good morning” or “I’m home”.

Connectivity to check weather forecast and schedule
TACHIKOMA has an Internet connectivity feature that tells users the weather forecast and their registered  Google Calendar schedule by asking TACHIKOMA. When asking TACHIKOMA “What is the schedule for today?”, it will answer with a synthesized voice based on Sakiko Tamagawa’s original, for example, “You will be meeting with Saito at 9:30!”.  When asking for words that you do not know such as “What is ◯◯?”, TACHIKOMA searches the internet and then answers* 2.

Synchronization is reproduced by object and speech recognition
One of the most important features of TACHIKOMA, is reproducing “parallelization” which is regarded as a very important function in the original anime. As in the original, each 1/8 TACHIKOMA is connected to the cloud (the Internet), when you show an object to the camera mounted in the image sensor part, the object recognition engine in the cloud recognizes the object.

For example, show an apple to TACHIKOMA and ask “What is this?”, it will answer “I know, it’s an apple isn’t it?” In addition, when user ”A” tells TACHIKOMA, “an apple is sweet”, TACHIKOMA understands this by using speech recognition technology and transmits the learned information “an apple is sweet” to the cloud, all other TACHIKOMAs then “synchronize” the information as new TACHIKOMA memories.

At a later date, if user ”B” shows an object that can be recognized as apple to TACHIKOMA, it says, “I know, it’s an apple right? An apple is sweet.” This means that all users receive the information that TACHIKOMA has learned via synchronization.

Metallic body SPECIAL EDITION
In commemoration of the release of 1/8 TACHIKOMA, Cerevo will release in limited quantities a SPECIAL EDITION which will use crafted aluminum parts for the bumper part and barrel cover part of the main body. The price for the SPECIAL EDITION is US$1999.00, and will be available to pre-order from 23rd March 2017 on the same day as the regular edition.

HANNOVER, Germany — CeBIT — March 19, 2017 — Cerevo Inc., an Internet connected consumer electronics manufacturer headquartered in Tokyo Japan, today announces an extended solution to its smart cycle device, RIDE-1 targeting consumer and small to mid-sized corporations. The additional solution is designed on SAP HANA, a real-time in-memory computing platform provided by SAP and Cerevo plans to launch a pilot test scheduled to take place in the next few months as a start in Japan then expanding to a global level.

Cerevo’s RIDE-1 is a clip on cycle device with various sensor modules and is one of the company’s XON series of smart sports products. RIDE-1 allows existing bike owners to use the advanced sensors. RIDE-1’s built in communication features include ANT+, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, in addition to various sensors such as GPS. Unlike traditional cycle computers that only record running data attached to a bicycle, the characteristics of RIDE-1 allow riding data to be shared and analyzed by linking with smartphones and the cloud.

Globally it is becoming more noticeable for companies “to encourage employees to commute to work by bike, promoting health, fitness and reducing pollution”, this trend started in Britain and spread to other European areas shown in recent reports and news such as  “Report – Impact of the cycle to work scheme”, “Cycle To Work scheme will continue, government’s Autumn Statement confirms” Also in Japan a number of companies who are conscious about health and environmental issues are trying to promote Bike to Work activities.  (http://www.cyclesports.jp/depot/detail/63385)

With the newly added solution, enterprises can ensure proven-safety in an employee’s commute via bicycle while also addressing the need to reduce CO2 emissions relating to an employee’s commute.  The RIDE-1 solution targets the human resource viewpoint to engage small to large corporations, in addition to consumers who have started bicycling to work, as well as semi professional riders, providing a full range of data which is collected by Cerevo’s RIDE-1 with its advanced internal sensors for a safer, better, more fun and more efficient everyday bicycle ride with an enhanced smartphone application customized utilizing SAP HANA.

Using RIDE-1’s 9 axis sensor, temperature, atmospheric pressure and brightness sensors as well as GPS,  Cerevo expects the solution to enable Cycle to Work to become more safe, healthier and be more eco-friendly by providing:

  • Monitor my bike performance
  • km biked
  • Real-time ranking
  • Virtual race
  • Real-time location tracking
  • Real-time incident alert
  • Real-time over speed alert
  • Calorie consumption
  • CO2 emission savings

A system architecture of the new CTW solution linked with SAP HANA

SAP HANA provides an affordable access to high-speed data networks – to significantly extend the reach and usability of Cerevo’s RIDE-1 application. Cerevo is also entitled to data storage, processing, analysis, and remote device management. SAP IoT data management technologies ensure that Cerevo can collect the right data at the right time, even when connectivity is interrupted. Relying on in-memory systems to process massive data volumes generated by thousands of devices.

New Cycle to Work solution’s pilot tablet application supported by SAP HANA

SAP HANA enables Cerevo to embed cloud agility into RIDE-1’s data management environment, providing greater stability for workloads and helping Cerevo go even more digital with greater ease.  The SAP HANA platform helps Cerevo get ahead of the market through innovation without compromising the solid foundation the company depends on for running RIDE-1’s service. For instance, a feature such as “graph data processing” which allows Cerevo to visualize data connections to understand complex relationships between people, places and things.

(http://www.cyclesports.jp/depot/detail/63385)

Aufzeichnung meiner Fahrradperformance

  • Zahl der gefahrenen Kilometer
  • Ranking in Echtzeit
  • virtuelles Rennen
    • Standortbestimmung in Echtzeit
  • Störungsalarm in Echtzeit
  • Alarm bei überhöhter Geschwindigkeit in Echtzeit
  • Kalorienverbrauch
  • CO2 Emissionsersparnis
