Thank you for your continued support of Cerevo products.
As previously announced, the Dashboard service for our live streaming encoder LiveShell X was officially discontinued on Saturday, May 31, 2025. We sincerely appreciate your long-standing use of this service.
■For Users Who Have Not Yet Updated to Firmware Rev.2090 or Later
Firmware updates to Rev.2090 and above were originally supported only until the end of May 2025. However, recognizing that some users were unable to complete the update in time, we have temporarily resumed operation of the firmware update server.
To update your firmware, please log in and follow the instructions at the following page. https://shell.cerevo.com/login
Please note that LiveShell X previously stored certain settings, such as streaming server information, in the Dashboard. After the update, you will need to reconfigure your streaming settings manually.
Cerevo, an internet-connected consumer electronics manufacturer headquartered in Tokyo, is to announce a release of new firmware for its live streaming device “LiveShell X” on Monday, March 31, 2025. The firmware will include “LiveShell Studio,” which enables streaming settings to be configured via the device’s local network.
The firmware is a required update to transition from the web streaming configuration app “Dashboard,” which will no longer be available after Saturday, May 31, 2025. To continue using LiveShell X for live streaming beyond this date, you must update to both firmware. If you wish to use LiveShell X for remote control after June 2025, you will need to register for “LiveShell Remote” separately after updating to the new firmware.
The local mode function for LiveShell 2/LiveShell PRO will also become unavailable at the end of May 2025 along with the conclusion of product support.
[Added on April 10] We have released a preparatory firmware update (Rev.2091) that addresses minor issues, along with a new firmware version (Rev.3001).
*If you updated to Rev.2090, released on March 31, before April 9, 2025, your device will automatically update to Rev.2091 when connected to the Dashboard. However, you can continue using the Dashboard without updating to Rev.3001 until the end of May 2025. *If you updated to Rev.3000, released on March 31, before April 9, 2025, you can update to Rev.3001 by performing a firmware update directly on your LiveShell X unit.
[Added on April 16] We have released a new firmware (Rev.3002) that resolves minor issues. There are no changes to the update procedure. Please update your LiveShell X unit by following the steps below.
*If you updated to Rev.3000 or Rev.3001 before April 15, 2025, you can update to Rev.3002 by updating the firmware on your LiveShell X unit.
● About firmware updates
To update LiveShell X to the new streaming system “LiveShell Studio,” a two-step update is required. Cerevo Inc., an Internet connected consumer electronics manufacturer headquartered in Tokyo, has released firmware v1.6.0 for LiveShell Studio, which enables the use of memory functions and key assignment settings. LiveShell Studio is the companion live streaming web application for LiveShell W, a multi-live streaming encoder that supports two-screen switching.
“Memory Function” and “Key Assignment Settings” will be available after updating to firmware v1.6.0. In addition to LiveShell W unit button operations, it will be possible to assign and save any function including memory function items and streaming control to a USB-connectable keypad or keyboard.
*If you update from firmware older than v1.4.1, the captions saved in LiveShell Studio will be reset to initial settings. Please save images etc. before updating to v1.6.0.
Multiple values and settings set by LiveShell Studio such as video manipulation (screen switching effects, PinP, screen split, chromakey), captions, ticker and audio mixer can be registered as a single memory item. Registered memory items can be retrieved and reflected at any time, and there is no limit to the number of memory items that can be registered. By registering multiple settings in advance, you can easily switch between various settings during live streaming.
Registered memory items can be reordered by drag & drop
■Key Assignment Settings
In addition to operations using the physical buttons on LiveShell W itself, you can assign specific functions, memory items and distribution control to any key or button on a USB-connected keyboard or keypad.
