HANNOVER, Germany — CeBIT — March 19, 2017 — Cerevo Inc., an Internet connected consumer electronics manufacturer headquartered in Tokyo Japan, today announces an extended solution to its smart cycle device, RIDE-1 targeting consumer and small to mid-sized corporations. The additional solution is designed on SAP HANA, a real-time in-memory computing platform provided by SAP and Cerevo plans to launch a pilot test scheduled to take place in the next few months as a start in Japan then expanding to a global level.

Cerevo’s RIDE-1 is a clip on cycle device with various sensor modules and is one of the company’s XON series of smart sports products. RIDE-1 allows existing bike owners to use the advanced sensors. RIDE-1’s built in communication features include ANT+, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, in addition to various sensors such as GPS. Unlike traditional cycle computers that only record running data attached to a bicycle, the characteristics of RIDE-1 allow riding data to be shared and analyzed by linking with smartphones and the cloud.

Globally it is becoming more noticeable for companies “to encourage employees to commute to work by bike, promoting health, fitness and reducing pollution”, this trend started in Britain and spread to other European areas shown in recent reports and news such as  “Report – Impact of the cycle to work scheme”, “Cycle To Work scheme will continue, government’s Autumn Statement confirms” Also in Japan a number of companies who are conscious about health and environmental issues are trying to promote Bike to Work activities.  (http://www.cyclesports.jp/depot/detail/63385)

With the newly added solution, enterprises can ensure proven-safety in an employee’s commute via bicycle while also addressing the need to reduce CO2 emissions relating to an employee’s commute.  The RIDE-1 solution targets the human resource viewpoint to engage small to large corporations, in addition to consumers who have started bicycling to work, as well as semi professional riders, providing a full range of data which is collected by Cerevo’s RIDE-1 with its advanced internal sensors for a safer, better, more fun and more efficient everyday bicycle ride with an enhanced smartphone application customized utilizing SAP HANA.

Using RIDE-1’s 9 axis sensor, temperature, atmospheric pressure and brightness sensors as well as GPS,  Cerevo expects the solution to enable Cycle to Work to become more safe, healthier and be more eco-friendly by providing:

  • Monitor my bike performance
  • km biked
  • Real-time ranking
  • Virtual race
  • Real-time location tracking
  • Real-time incident alert
  • Real-time over speed alert
  • Calorie consumption
  • CO2 emission savings

A system architecture of the new CTW solution linked with SAP HANA

SAP HANA provides an affordable access to high-speed data networks – to significantly extend the reach and usability of Cerevo’s RIDE-1 application. Cerevo is also entitled to data storage, processing, analysis, and remote device management. SAP IoT data management technologies ensure that Cerevo can collect the right data at the right time, even when connectivity is interrupted. Relying on in-memory systems to process massive data volumes generated by thousands of devices.

New Cycle to Work solution’s pilot tablet application supported by SAP HANA

SAP HANA enables Cerevo to embed cloud agility into RIDE-1’s data management environment, providing greater stability for workloads and helping Cerevo go even more digital with greater ease.  The SAP HANA platform helps Cerevo get ahead of the market through innovation without compromising the solid foundation the company depends on for running RIDE-1’s service. For instance, a feature such as “graph data processing” which allows Cerevo to visualize data connections to understand complex relationships between people, places and things.

(http://www.cyclesports.jp/depot/detail/63385)

Aufzeichnung meiner Fahrradperformance

  • Zahl der gefahrenen Kilometer
  • Ranking in Echtzeit
  • virtuelles Rennen
    • Standortbestimmung in Echtzeit
  • Störungsalarm in Echtzeit
  • Alarm bei überhöhter Geschwindigkeit in Echtzeit
  • Kalorienverbrauch
  • CO2 Emissionsersparnis

Both packages will be available on Amazon.com later this Spring.

REC-1_LOG-1_660XON REC-1/LOG-1
https://xon.cerevo.com/en/rec-1/

Sports cameras that are compact and lightweight and can be attached to competitors and vehicles have become widespread in the last few years and have to be used in various sports and activities such as automobile racing, survival games, soccer and tennis. In addition, technologies for visualizing sports using data analysis are also being used in professional sports, data is acquired from sensors attached to athletes and sporting goods, not only for spectators and TV viewers, but also for athletes themselves to analyze and improve their performance.

We developed REC-1 with the aim of further visualizing sports through an interface that intuitively uses methods from the professional sports world, all at an affordable price range.

Also, in response to the need for comprehensive data collection, REC-1 is bundled with a mountable sensor outside the camera. When sensors are built into the camera body, the data that can be acquired is greatly affected by the installation location of the camera, so there is a possibility that the data acquired is not you originally required. By installing the camera in a position that captures human viewpoint such as on a helmet or goggles, then separately installing the sensor in a location such as a motorcycle wheel or car suspension, REC-1 can meet the needs of sports experts with precise data overlaid onto video.

REC-1_LOG-1_motorcyce_660

REC-1

REC-1 is a full HD sports camera equipped with Wi-Fi. In addition to shooting video at a maximum of 1080/60p and still images at up to 2304×1728 pixels, REC-1 can also stream video to a smartphone and start or stop recording remotely. So even if you attach it to a place which is difficult to reach, if you have a smartphone you can operate it remotely.

REC-1_front_660

Data such as speed, inclination and temperature are recorded by the external sensor. By connecting the camera and sensor to a PC, using our free dedicated software, you can superimpose the data acquired onto the captured video and easily create sports videos with the captured data. In addition, we plan to integrate other XON series products such as RIDE-1 and ORBITREC with the movie data.

Alongside IPX4 equivalent water-resistance, REC-1 is equipped with a physical slide type switch to easily start recording while wearing gloves and a tubular body suitable for mounting on bikes and bicycles. The battery can be removed and exchanged while REC-1 is mounted and with built-in GPS, you can record routes and speed data even without using the external sensor.

REC-1_battery_660

LOG-1

LOG-1 is a compact sensor device with 6-axes (acceleration / angular velocity), temperature, pressure and magnetism sensors and has an IPX4 equivalent waterproof rating for use in a variety weather conditions just like REC-1. LOG-1 has a tripod hole on the bottom of the main unit and can be attached to various sports devices using the bundled mounting tool or to a camera using commercially available camera mounts. LOG-1 can also be fixed to individual competitors using the included belt attachment.

LOG-1_front_660

By attaching the enclosed magnet to a rotating object such as a wheel and using the magnetic sensor of LOG-1, you can acquire the rotational speed of a bicycle crank, car tire and more. The magnetic sensor can switch between cycle acquisition mode and state acquisition mode. So it is also possible to acquire on/off information on physical switches that is difficult to acquire with an acceleration sensor alone.

LOG-1_-magnet_660

The main body of LOG-1 measures an extremely compact 40×55×12 mm and weighs only 28 grams, meaning it can easily be attached to various sports equipment. Using CR2032 batteries results in a long battery life of more than 19 hours of continuous use and easy replaceability. Because LOG-1 can keep recording data for multiple days on a single battery, you do not need to remove or install new batteries or turn on/off power, even for sports competitions that take place over several days.

By connecting camera and sensor to a PC, using our free dedicated software, you can superimpose the data acquired on the captured video and easily create sports video with the captured data.

In addition to REC-1, data from LOG-1 can be combined with movies shot with other companies camera’s (operation confirmed with GoPro series, Sony Action Cam and iPhone). Also, it is possible to overlay data acquired by multiple LOG-1s onto one movie.

Update available for Tipron adding improved features

Update available for Tipron adding improved features

Cerevo has released updates for Tipron, a home robot that can automatically project an 80 inch screen from a distance of 3 meters.

Tipron
https://tipron.cerevo.com/

In this update, improved movement controls have been added to the Tipron app. Previously it was only possible to move Tipron in movement mode with the projector part folded, but now it is now possible to move with the projector unfolded. This allows you to move Tipron while projecting an image*1.

The accuracy of automatic keystone correction has been greatly improved, we also improved the UI of the application, and yaw/pitch operability. The Android version also implements improvements to reduce battery consumption.

New functions will be available by applying the latest firmware released today “Rev. 324”. iOS App 1.1.0 or above and Android app 0.13 or above are required to install the update.

※ 1 As a countermeasure against risks such as falling over of the main unit, when moving Tipron in projection mode, Tipron will move at the same speed as the slowest in movement mode.

We have also added and improved many other new functions.
For details of the update, please refer to the online manual –

In RTSP mode when LiveShell X is being used as a streaming server, Multicast streaming is now supported in addition to conventional Unicast streaming.

TinyCon feature
This is a remote control function that allows LiveShell X to be configured without using Dashboard and can even be used when not connected to the Internet. This makes it possible to start and stop streaming, set image quality, streaming server details, etc. in local mode, where previously no remote controls were available.

Automatic control function
When LiveShell X delivers streaming video or audio to multiple channels, this function automatically implements operations on other channels. Start, stop and pause controls on one streaming channel are also reflected on other channels automatically.

MPEG-2 TS over UDP
LiveShell X now supports MPEG-2 TS/UDP transmission, both Unicast and Multicast can be used.

For current LiveShell series including LiveShell X  – Several more new functions have been added to Dashboard for LiveShell 2, PRO, X and LiveWedge. The main added functions are as follows.

Facebook Live: LiveShell 2, LiveShell PRO, LiveShell X, LiveWedge
We have added a special menu for Facebook Live that previously required setting up by choosing “Other streaming services”.

Lower thirds with frame: LiveShell, LiveShell 2, LiveShell PRO, LiveShell X, LiveWedge

A new caption function has been added to Dashboard, which allows framing of caption text. If the lower third is set with a transparent PNG file supported by LiveShell X, or the color of the background image and the color of the lower third are the same, visibility can be improved with outlined characters.

We have also added and improved many other new functions.
