Cerevo, an Internet connected consumer electronics developer and creator, is pleased to announce “Listnr” a cloud listening device and smart microphone capable of detecting emotions from sounds. This product will be exhibited at CES 2016 from 6th January in Las Vegas, USA and will be available to purchase in January 2016.

Listnr is a small IoT device developed from the concept of “emotions become colors.” Equipped with Wireless LAN connectivity and a microphone, Listnr collects sounds and uploads them to the cloud for analysis in real time.

Listnr’s simple yet sophisticated design and easy to use functions are crafted to enable easy sound detection in any location. You can place Listnr in your living room or your children’s bed room.

Listnr has an open API available for developers to use from launch. Sound analysis and sound recognition servers can be changed and set freely. Listnr can be used as cloud connected wireless LAN microphone to connect with a developer’s applications and services. Self developed smartphone applications are also connectable. The default sound recognition engine “xauris” is provided by Panasonic Corporation. Sounds from a baby can be emotionally recognized as crying, laughing, growling and babbling.

Recognition results, the emotions in the sounds, are displayed in different colors using Listnr’s body LEDs and in the smartphone application. The combination of Listnr and smartphone application enables a family to check their baby’s emotions and voice by means of letters and icons. Families can always be connected.
